Sudanese Sovereign Council Chairman and Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan met with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Wednesday in New York.
The meeting discussed the historical and strong relations between Sudan and Kuwait and ways to strengthen cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
Burhan briefed Kuwait’s Crown Prince on the challenges Sudan faces due to the rebellion led by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia against the state and its institutions, systematically targeting civilians. He affirmed Sudan’s response to all peace initiatives aimed at ending the war in Sudan, starting with the Jeddah Agreement signed in May 2023.
Burhan expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Kuwait for their support during this difficult time, noting Kuwait’s continuous air bridge providing aid to Sudanese citizens affected by the war, floods, and rains.
