Over 33,000 Casualties in Khartoum Since the War Began

The Khartoum State Ministry of Health revealed on Thursday that 33,573 people have been killed or injured since the war began in mid-April 2023. The ministry’s spokesperson, Mohammed Ibrahim, reported 1,597 deaths and 31,967 injuries, with most casualties resulting from RSF targeting residential areas, healthcare facilities, shelters, major markets, and public transport hubs. A total of 23,459 surgeries have been performed on war injuries, including bullet extractions, with children making up 24% of the casualties and women 14%.
