Militia Commits Atrocious Crime by Executing Joint Force Prisoners

Sudan Events – Reports
The Joint Forces of the Armed Struggle Movements strongly condemned the execution of two of its wounded prisoners, shot dead by the Rapid Support Forces militia despite their full surrender and disarmament away from the battlefield.
In a statement on Wednesday, the official spokesperson for the joint forces, Major Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, described the execution of the prisoners as a cowardly and barbaric act, violating all humanitarian and international laws governing armed conflicts and protecting prisoners of war.
“These savage acts reflect the moral decay of the Rapid Support Forces militia and reaffirm to the world that they are merely criminals who do not recognize any human values or adherence to laws and conventions,” the statement said.
It added that the execution of surrendered war prisoners constitutes a complete war crime and terrorist behavior that requires immediate accountability for all involved.
The joint forces called on the international community, humanitarian organizations, and the International Criminal Court to take responsibility in documenting and monitoring these grave violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces against prisoners and innocent civilians in Sudan, and to bring the leaders of this terrorist militia to justice before the ICC.
They also demanded a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the execution of the prisoners and the prosecution of all those involved in these horrific crimes. The statement concluded that all reports and evidence confirm the continued perpetration of these crimes daily in all areas where this militia is present since the start of its war against the Sudanese people, urging the designation of the Rapid Support Forces as a terrorist organization that practices murder and terrorism outside the rule of law and disrespects humanitarian laws or the rights of prisoners.
The joint forces reaffirmed their commitment to the highest humanitarian standards in dealing with prisoners, calling on the other side to adhere to humanitarian laws, ethics, respect the rights of prisoners, and cease their execution.
