Militias kill and injure hundreds and burn 17 villages in North Darfur

Sudan Events – Reports
The Sudan Liberation Army announced the death and injury of hundreds following an unprecedented attack by the Rapid Support Forces militia on several villages in North Darfur. In a statement, the official spokesperson for the Sudan Liberation Army, Al-Sadiq Ali Al-Nour, said:
“In an addition to its brutality and in an unprecedented attack, several villages in North Darfur (Bir Mezza, Buridik, Donki Ba’ashim, and Dreshqi) were subjected to a horrendous surprise attack by the Rapid Support Forces militia, using heavy weapons, machine guns, and snipers. The attack resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries, with many victims tortured and stripped of their possessions.”
The statement also revealed that the militia burned down around 17 villages.
He added, “Amid media blackout, these practices continue, and we fear massacres like the ones in West Darfur, which saw the mass genocide of the Masalit tribe. We have learned that the Rapid Support Forces are planning to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity, potentially the worst in human history, as evidenced by the hateful racist speeches from the militia’s leaders, who rallied from all over Sudan with the aim of revenge against the people of North Darfur.”
The statement continued, “In light of this horrific crime, the movement warns the Rapid Support Forces militia and the political forces of the consequences of committing such atrocities because judgment day is coming. They must awaken their consciences and stop playing with Sudan’s future and its people. The movement condemns the shelling of villages and displacement camps, the attacks on civilians, and their siege with the intent to starve and exploit them, regardless of the reasons or motives behind these acts.”
