Doctors Without Borders Halts Care for Thousands of Children in Zamzam Camp

Sudan Events – Follow-up Reports
Doctors Without Borders announced the cessation of care for thousands of malnourished children in Zamzam camp near El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, after running out of supplies and being blocked from receiving further aid due to the conflict.
The organization stated that it had been forced to stop treatment for 5,000 severely malnourished children, including 2,900 with acute severe malnutrition.
The fighting factions have prevented the delivery of food, medicines, and other supplies for months, leaving the organization’s supplies depleted by the end of September.
Doctors Without Borders emphasized that its hospital in the camp, with 80 beds for treating the most vulnerable children, is the only facility left.
