Coordination Between Khartoum and Standards Authority to Prevent the Circulation of Counterfeit and Expired Goods

The government of Khartoum state and the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization agreed to strengthen coordination to prevent the circulation of counterfeit and expired goods.
This agreement was reached during a joint meeting held on Thursday between Khartoum state and the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, attended by the Secretary-General of Khartoum State Government, Hadi Abdel Sayed, and the Director of the Khartoum Branch of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, Salafah Abdel Aziz Mohamed.
The meeting confirmed that the ongoing conflict has not hindered the regulatory bodies from fulfilling their role in protecting citizens and preventing the circulation of counterfeit and expired goods. Salafah explained that the organization had resumed its activities some time ago, managing to detect numerous violations, with its staff present in markets.
The Secretary-General of Khartoum State reiterated the state’s support for regulatory bodies as they work in an integrated system with the state to regulate commercial activities and enforce standards.
