Israeli Attack Targets Latakia
Syrian state media reported early today (Thursday) that an Israeli “aggression” targeted the coastal city of Latakia on the Mediterranean.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the Israeli bombing targeted an ammunition depot belonging to Hezbollah in Latakia.
The state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that the Israeli strike resulted in fires, and firefighting teams were working to extinguish them.
Syrian television reported that air defenses “intercepted hostile targets” in Latakia’s skies.
Israel has been carrying out strikes on Iranian-linked targets in Syria for years but has intensified such strikes since Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7th of last year.
