Militia Continues Raiding East Gezira

Sudan Events – Agencies
Activists reported that the Rapid Support Forces militia continued to attack areas in East Gezira, committing widespread violations against civilians, including murder and forced displacement, in a retaliatory campaign. Eyewitnesses told “Sudan Tribune” of large waves of displacement from the towns of Tambul and Rufaa and the villages around them towards Al-Faw in Gedaref State and other areas in Gedaref following retaliatory attacks by militia members on dozens of villages. The Rufaa Resistance Committees, in a statement, said that the militia carried out retaliatory raids on homes on Monday for theft and looting. The committees also revealed reports of several girls being raped, while the militia forced citizens to flee their homes in a forced displacement operation. They noted that the militia displaced the residents of Sharfa Al-Bahr villages, forcing them to leave their homes amidst serious violations committed by militia members. The committee explained that the Rapid Support Forces militia returned to the town of Tambul and committed another massacre against members of the Shukria tribe.
