A force affiliated with the RSF militia carried out a brutal massacre against the residents of the village of “Azraq” in Gezira State, killing 12 people, including children, women, and the elderly, while dozens were injured in the attack on the village.
The Sudanese Doctors Network condemned the mass killings by the RSF militia against Gezira villages in a statement on Thursday, highlighting that they were carried out in an ethnic and tribal manner targeting all citizens without regard for humanitarian and international laws that criminalize the killing of civilians in conflict areas.
The network called on the RSF to refrain from killing civilians and not to involve them in the ongoing conflict in the state, warning the militia against turning the conflict between them and the Sudanese army into a retaliatory civil war.
