Foreign Ministry: The international community’s silence regarding the militia’s crimes encourages them to persist in committing massacres

Sudan Events – Reports
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that villages and towns in East Al-Jazeera and Al-Batana have been subjected to retaliatory campaigns by the Janjaweed militia following the secession of their leaders, targeting civilians based on tribal and regional grounds, which rises to the level of genocide and ethnic cleansing. The Foreign Ministry added in a statement, “The number of victims of these criminal campaigns is estimated in the hundreds of citizens, including the dead and injured, in addition to the displacement of several thousands from their villages.” The statement called on the international community to condemn these campaigns immediately and strongly, and to take measures to hold the perpetrators, leaders, and sponsors of the terrorist militia accountable and to stop the flow of arms and mercenaries to them. It continued, “There is no doubt that the silence and indifference of the international community towards these crimes encourages the militia and its regional sponsor to persist in committing massacres and genocide without fear of punishment.”
