Sudan Events – Monitoring
The Chairman of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, met with World Food Programme (WFP) Executive Director Cindy McCain on Sunday, attended by Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin.
The Acting Undersecretary stated that during the meeting, the chairman reaffirmed the government’s commitment to facilitating the work of the WFP and supporting all of its projects, including establishing a logistics base in Al-Dabbah in the northern state to deliver humanitarian aid to those in need via various Sudanese airports. McCain welcomed this initiative, noting that its implementation will be considered by relevant authorities.
