Al-Azhar Calls for Accountability for Massacres in Sudan

Al-Azhar condemned the brutal massacres taking place in Sudan, especially in villages across the Jazira region, which have left nearly 500 civilians, including youth, children, women, and elderly people, dead, in addition to hundreds injured or missing.
In a statement, Al-Azhar said, “The terrorizing, killing, and retaliating against peaceful civilians as part of political agendas are heinous crimes against humanity and are among the gravest sins in our faith.” Al-Azhar called for international solidarity to support the Sudanese people, confront these atrocities, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Al-Azhar extended condolences to the Sudanese people, praying for mercy on the victims and for healing, relief, unity, and security for Sudan.
