United Nations: Girls Raped in Eastern Al-Jazirah

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reported on Monday that it received reports of girls being raped and 10 children killed and 43 others injured in eastern Al-Jazirah.
The Rapid Support Forces militia carried out horrific attacks on villages in the region.
UNICEF stated, “We received horrific reports of multiple girls, some as young as 13, subjected to rape and sexual violence, as well as children being detained.”
The organization reported 124 fatalities in Al-Jazirah state, including 10 children, some as young as 10, and 43 injured children.
UNICEF called for an end to violence, cessation of deliberate attacks against civilians, cessation of grave violations against children, and the release of detained children.
