Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The U.S. Special Envoy to Sudan, Tom Perriello, urged the Rapid Support Forces militia to halt the horrific abuses against civilians in Al-Jazirah state and called on it to fulfill its commitments.
In a post on the (X) platform, Perriello said, “We are closely monitoring reports of atrocities committed by the Rapid Support Forces against Sudanese civilians across Al-Jazirah state, including rape and child murders.”
He added, “We call on the militia to cease slaughtering civilians and to abide by all commitments made by Hemedti and the militia’s leadership as part of the Sudan Support Alliance Code of Conduct and the Jeddah Declaration.”
