Defectors from the Militia Inform Burhan of Their Disavowal of Rebellion

Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Burhan, met on Wednesday with a group of defectors from the Rapid Support Forces militia led by Dr. Abd al-Qadir Ibrahim Ali.
The meeting addressed the violations and atrocities committed by this militia against innocent civilians across Sudan.
Dr. Abd al-Qadir stated in a press statement that this group’s joining the national ranks was based on a firm conviction, emphasizing their support for the armed forces in the same trench. He added, “By taking this stance, we have disavowed the rebellious Rapid Support Forces militia,” referring to its series of crimes against the Sudanese people, which constitute clear war crimes, calling for the necessity of bringing the perpetrators of these crimes to international courts.
He noted the immense sacrifices made by the armed forces and other regular forces and volunteers in the fight against the brutal rebellion.
Abd al-Qadir urged all those siding with the rebellion to align with the nation’s choice, adding that the door remains open for them to disavow the actions of this terrorist militia.
On his part, Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Wad Abok explained that this group of defectors from the militia aligned out of conviction with the state and its institutions, emphasizing that the current aggression against the country threatens the existence of Sudanese society and the future of the Sudanese state. He pointed out that any attempt to dismantle the armed forces is an attempt to undermine the state and its established institutions and poses a threat to the security and stability of the nation.
He highlighted the regional and international challenges facing Sudan that require solidarity and cooperation among all citizens of the nation.
