Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The General Secretariat of the General Conference of Arab Parties confirmed its full support for Sudan in confronting “the project of colonialism, settlement, and Western-Zionist domination imposed through war.” It called for classifying the Rapid Support militia as a terrorist organization.
The Secretary-General of the General Conference of Arab Parties, Qassem Saleh, stated in a statement (on Friday) regarding the latest developments that “the General Secretariat of the Arab Parties Conference is monitoring the developments in the Sudan scene since the outbreak of the war imposed on it in mid-April 2023, and has taken note of its strategic goal represented in the Western-Zionist endeavor to dominate and control this Arab country rich in history, stances, and capabilities, with the help of certain regional countries that provided money, weapons, and mercenaries gathered from various countries in West, Central, and East Africa and some Asian countries.”
He continued, “It also took note of those countries’ sponsorship of the displacement of settlers from African countries to Sudan as part of their efforts to create a radical demographic change that replicates the settlement experience in Palestine by the Zionist movement.”
The statement noted that the General Secretariat has been following the recent developments in Sudan, where the Sudanese national army, popular resistance, and joint forces have made significant progress across all operational theaters, regaining a number of cities and areas as part of the efforts of these forces to reclaim all the lands occupied by the Rapid Support militia and complete the land liberation process.
The statement continued: “This development on the battlefield has led to a serious collapse within the militia, prompting some of its military leaders to surrender along with some senior advisors. In response to this qualitative shift in the history of this war, the Rapid Support militia has begun committing horrific massacres against civilians in Al-Jazira State, resulting in hundreds of martyrs and injuries among children, women, and the elderly, with tens of thousands displaced from their villages and cities in preparation for the ongoing demographic change that has been taking place for five years. This has been accompanied and preceded by a systematic destruction of infrastructure, burning of crops, agricultural machinery, means of production, and violations against research centers and educational and health institutions, as well as all service institutions.”
The General Secretariat clarified that it has noticed the efforts being made by Western and regional forces, with local support, to introduce international or African forces into Sudan, violating its sovereignty and seeking to halt the advance of the army and popular resistance in completing the liberation process.
The statement warned against replicating the Zionist project in Palestine in a second Arab state, namely Sudan.
