Air Bridge to Transport 1,000 Tons of Aid from Juba to Kadugli

Sudan Events – Reports
On Sunday, Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the start of a humanitarian aid airlift, transporting 1,000 tons of aid to two regions in South Kordofan from South Sudan.
The first plane arrived on Friday at Kadugli airport, carrying 16 tons of humanitarian aid as part of the airlift. The Ministry stated, “The air bridge from Juba to Kadugli was launched to transport 1,000 tons of food and life-saving medicines via 78 flights.”
The aid is intended for the army-controlled city of Kadugli and the SPLM-N-controlled region of Gulud, which previously declared famine in its areas within South Kordofan. The Ministry noted that the airlift followed a summit between the head of the Sovereign Council and South Sudan’s President, aimed at delivering aid to Kadugli and Gulud.
Sudan’s government reiterated its commitment to international humanitarian law and its responsibility to provide food and medicine to its citizens, pledging adherence to ethical and legal principles governing humanitarian work without politicization.
