Kikel Regrets Joining the Militia

Sudan Events – Reports
Abu Aqla Kikel accused the RSF of committing theft and looting in the state and expressed regret for joining them previously. In a video, Kikel, speaking before a group of RSF prisoners, said, “The RSF leadership’s claims that looting groups are independent or intelligence operatives are untrue. The ‘Shafshafa’ groups belong to the RSF, overseen by leaders such as Qeja, Abdullah Hussein, and Jalha.”
Kikel admitted that any area the RSF seizes suffers from the looting of government institutions, citizens’ funds, and homes. He said, “I was once part of the RSF for a cause, but we found that the RSF does not work for any cause. What made us return to the army and the right path was that citizens are honored and respected in areas under the army’s control, while whenever we, as RSF forces, enter a region, we commit abuses, genocide, and looting, which is un-Sudanese behavior.”
He also revealed the capture of several RSF members and the seizure of combat vehicles in the Al-Batana front following battles led by the Sudan Shield Forces, which he helped establish alongside the army and joint forces. He declared his readiness to join efforts to liberate Gezira, Khartoum, and Darfur.
