Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, held a closed-door bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Arab Islamic Summit.
They discussed the course of bilateral relations and the support for mutual cooperation between Sudan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Chairman of the Sovereign Council briefed the Saudi Crown Prince on the developments in Sudan, following the rebellion of the Al-Dagalou militia against the state and its institutions, which led to violations and atrocities against civilians, targeting innocent citizens, and the destruction of institutions, vital facilities, and infrastructure projects in the country.
The Saudi Crown Prince confirmed the Kingdom’s support for Sudan, its unity, security, stability, and territorial integrity. He emphasized that the Saudi and Sudanese peoples are linked by deep historical ties, and reiterated that his country is looking forward to achieving peace and stability in Sudan as soon as possible, in order to end the suffering of the Sudanese people.
