152 Cases of Rape and 5,000 Deaths Reported Since Militia Seized Al-Jazirah

A conference in Al-Jazirah on Friday revealed 152 cases of rape and 5,000 civilian deaths in Al-Jazirah state since the RSF militia took control of the state from December 2023 to November this year.
According to Adil Abdel Nafi, head of the violations monitoring committee at the conference, as cited by Sudan Tribune, 152 cases of rape and dozens of abductions of women have been documented since the RSF seized control of Al-Jazirah in December last year.
He announced that the total number of deaths reached 5,000 across the state since December, including 3,500 deaths prior to the defection of Abu Aqla Kikil and 1,500 deaths in incidents in eastern Al-Jazirah villages. He emphasized that the death toll continues to rise daily in villages in eastern Al-Jazirah.
Abdel Nafi also reported that approximately 5 million residents have been displaced from Al-Jazirah state. He noted that the state comprises 3,835 villages, over 2,500 of which have been entirely and forcibly evacuated, indicating that forced displacement has affected the majority of cities and villages in the state.
