Trump Appoints Former Wrestling Federation Official as Education Secretary

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Linda McMahon, former head of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), has been chosen to head the Department of Education, a department he intends to eliminate and which is the subject of fierce debate between progressives and conservatives.

Trump said in a statement that McMahon is “a fierce advocate for parental rights,” adding, “We will bring education back to the United States, and Linda will lead this effort.”
