Blinken to Discuss the Sudan Crisis in Italy and the Vatican

US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that the ongoing situation in Sudan will be one of the main topics that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will address during his visit to Italy and the Vatican, starting on Saturday.
Miller added, in a brief press statement, that Secretary Blinken will travel to Anani and Fiugi, Italy, and the Vatican City from November 23 to 27, where he will participate in the G7 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Anani and Fiugi to discuss a range of issues with partners, “including conflicts in the Middle East, Russia’s war on Ukraine, security in the Indo-Pacific region, and ongoing crises in both Haiti and Sudan.”
After this meeting, Blinken will travel to the Vatican for a meeting with Pope Francis, Cardinal Parolin, and Cardinal Gallagher to discuss pressing international concerns, including the Middle East and the Russia-Ukraine war.
