Sudan’s Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, affirmed that Sudan is facing a major conspiracy aimed at dividing the country and undermining its religion. He added, “This targeting will not stop, even if the rebellion is eradicated.”
Speaking at the conference “The Role of Scholars in Today’s Crisis and Tomorrow’s Blessing” on Thursday at the Al-Rabwa Hotel in Port Sudan, Dr. Jibril emphasized that the Sudan Scholars Association conference was held at a critical juncture in Sudan’s history. He urged the association to focus on national unity and internal cohesion, noting the importance of building social peace and the challenge of achieving it.
Dr. Jibril also called for opposing the rhetoric of hatred and emphasized the state’s commitment to guiding the Sudan Scholars Association in the right direction.
Meanwhile, Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Dr. Omar Bakheet, urged scholars to play a key role in leading the country through these tough times and called on women and youth to continue their resilience. He stated that youth are the leaders of this phase.
The Deputy Head of the Sudan Scholars Association, Fatih Hibr, said, “We came in support of the armed forces,” urging unity in purpose.
The Secretary-General of the association highlighted that the conference was held in exceptional circumstances and stressed that scholars are a bulwark against ignorance. He also condemned the ongoing looting, displacement, and violence, calling for unity behind the leadership and societal cohesion.
