The anti-aircraft units of the 19th Infantry Division in Merowe shot down suicide drones launched by the Rapid Support Forces militia in the early hours of Friday morning.
According to a statement from the division’s media office, the 19th Division’s anti-aircraft units, along with electronic jamming systems, successfully intercepted 16 suicide drones targeting Merowe Airport, all of which were shot down without casualties or damage to equipment.
The 19th Division assured all citizens in the Merowe locality that the armed forces are fully prepared and on high alert to handle any emergencies or suspicious objects in the skies of Merowe and the Northern State in general.
The division also urged everyone not to fall for malicious rumors.
