Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Sudanese Ambassador to Russia, Mohamed Al-Ghazali Al-Tijani, confirmed that the international community remains silent regarding the violations committed by the militia.
The Sudanese Ambassador held a press conference on Friday at the Russian News Agency, during which he reviewed the latest developments in Sudan due to the war launched by the terrorist militia.
Ambassador Al-Ghazali provided background on the militia’s ambitions that led to the war, as well as regional and international interventions in Sudanese affairs, including evidence of the involvement of the UAE and Chad in supporting the terrorist militia.
He highlighted the militia’s violations against civilians and its involvement in crimes against humanity, all observed by the international community, which has largely remained silent except for a few condemnations. The world has witnessed the militia’s actions documented by themselves in Darfur, Al-Jazeera, Sinnar, Khartoum, their siege of Al-Fasher, their execution of West Darfur’s governor, and their pillaging of cities and villages.
The Ambassador also discussed the Sudanese government’s efforts to end the war, respond to peace calls, and adhere to the Jeddah peace talks. He emphasized the government’s efforts to alleviate citizen suffering and collaborate with humanitarian organizations to deliver aid.
He further addressed Sudan-Russia relations, the prospects for cooperation, and aspirations to advance bilateral ties. The Ambassador expressed Sudan’s appreciation for Russia’s support in using its veto power against the British draft resolution at the UN Security Council, which he said demonstrates Russian solidarity and advocacy for Sudan in preserving its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
