The Security Committee of the River Nile State reported that ground-based anti-aircraft systems and electronic jamming platforms successfully thwarted an aerial attack by rebel militia forces and their supporters, which targeted Atbara Airport with 20 suicide drones.
The committee confirmed in a statement that all attacking drones were intercepted and destroyed without any human or material losses.
It was also noted that all defensive security, police, and joint forces, along with emergency responders, are fully prepared to defend River Nile State and repel any hostile attacks. The committee urged the public not to pay attention to malicious rumors
