Three Individuals Charged in Sweden for Planning ISIS-Linked Terror Attack

Swedish prosecutors announced on Monday that three individuals have been charged with planning a terrorist crime linked to ISIS.

According to the Swedish Prosecution Authority, three individuals and a fourth accomplice have also been charged with joining a terrorist organization. The alleged crimes occurred between September 2023 and March 2024.

The investigation revealed international links to ISIS, particularly in Somalia, and connections to individuals under investigation abroad for terrorism-related activities.

The charges allege that the suspects possessed a firearm intended for use in or to facilitate a terrorist crime, as well as a stun gun classified as an accessory to the crime.

The objective was reportedly to instill widespread fear among the population and destabilize Sweden’s political, constitutional, economic, and social foundations in the name of ISIS.
