Member of the Sovereign Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army, Major General Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, praised Egypt’s supportive stance towards Sudan, both government and people, in all areas.
During a meeting in Port Sudan on Tuesday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ambassador Badr Abdel-Atti, Jaber praised the advanced level of bilateral relations between Sudan and Egypt, highlighting Egypt’s warm reception of Sudanese refugees fleeing the war in Sudan.
The meeting discussed joint cooperation and coordination and ways to enhance and promote mutual cooperation. It also covered Sudan’s position on proposed initiatives to resolve the Sudanese crisis, affirming that the Jeddah Agreement remains the main reference, though the terrorist militia has failed to adhere to it.
Jaber provided a detailed explanation of the situation in Sudan, developments on the ground, and the current crisis’s impact on the regional and international environment, noting the role of some countries in advancing their agendas for intervention in Sudan to serve their own interests, particularly Chad, which opened its borders for the flow of foreign mercenaries. He praised the support provided by Egypt and Eritrea to the Sudanese people.
