A powerful earthquake of 7.0 magnitude struck off the coast of California on Thursday, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning, according to officials.

The U.S. Geological Survey stated that the epicenter of the earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.0, was located at a depth of only 10 kilometers from the sea surface, about 100 kilometers west-southwest of the coastal city of Ferndale.
