Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Governor of North Darfur, Hafiz Bakheet Mohamed, issued a decision to dismiss 11 tribal leaders in the state for supporting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Bakheet justified his decision by stating that the dismissed leaders violated the 1999 Traditional Administration Law of North Darfur and mobilized their tribesmen and those under their administration, inciting them to undermine state institutions.
The decision accused the dismissed tribal leaders of inciting the destruction of Khartoum, and the states of North, Central, and West Darfur, Gezira, Sennar, and White Nile, as well as mobilizing fighters through the “Nafira” system.
The decision directed the relevant authorities to open criminal charges against the mentioned leaders and bring them to justice. It also instructed the heads of the mentioned administrations to continue their work within their areas of jurisdiction.
