“The Central Bank”: Currency Exchange Will Follow a Precise and Well-Planned Schedule
Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
The Central Bank of Sudan reassured citizens in states not currently included in the currency exchange process that their needs and circumstances are being taken into account.
In a statement on Monday, the bank emphasized that all citizens, without exception, will be able to exchange their money in a way that preserves their rights and savings.
The bank explained that postponing the withdrawal of old currency denominations in the non-included states is an organizational measure to ensure the success of the replacement plan and safeguard citizens’ rights. The bank confirmed that these notes will remain valid until the exchange process reaches these states later.
The Central Bank reaffirmed its commitment to executing the currency exchange plan in a comprehensive and equitable manner, adhering to a detailed schedule that considers logistical and field conditions. The bank also pledged to announce any additional steps officially and issue directives to simplify the process for citizens.
It urged citizens to adhere to guidelines issued exclusively by the bank and to avoid relying on unofficial sources.
Currency exchanges for the 500 and 1,000 pound denominations will start on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in six states.
