Increase in the 2025 Budget by 100% to Address Challenges in Shendi

Nizar Abdelghani, the Director of Financial Affairs for Shendi Locality, announced that the 2025 budget is allocated between military efforts, security, services, and development. He stated in a press briefing on Shendi Radio (Wednesday) that the proposed budget has increased from 3 trillion to 6 trillion Sudanese pounds, a 100% increase compared to last year, in order to address the challenges for the upcoming year.
He confirmed that his administration is capable of achieving the estimated revenue targets and controlling expenses without having a budget deficit. He also stated that the state’s government sets guidelines for spending and prioritizes specific items based on the situation, similar to the previous year’s budget, which focused on military efforts and health spending as priorities. He added that all localities must comply with these guidelines.
Nizar Abdelghani emphasized that the budget should have flexibility to address any emergency situations. He also pointed out that Shendi locality has advantages that make an increase in revenue feasible.
