Sudan Events – Reports
The Ministry of Health in North Darfur announced on Friday that the death toll from the artillery shelling by the militia on the Zamzam displacement camp in Al-Fasher has risen to 73 dead and 376 injured since the beginning of the shelling in December.
Ibrahim Khater, the Director-General of the Ministry of Health in North Darfur, stated in a press statement that the artillery attacks on the Zamzam camp and other parts of the city of Al-Fasher also caused 458 injuries in December among the camp residents and city dwellers, amid a severe shortage of medical supplies.
He further stated that the rebel militia targeted Al-Fasher Specialist Hospital for Women and Obstetrics with four guided rocket artillery shells using drones on Friday morning, hitting areas where patient companions and vital facilities in the hospital were gathered. This resulted in the martyrdom of 9 patient companions and injuries to more than 20 people, as well as damage to the facilities, particularly the intensive care unit and medical equipment.
