On Saturday, Sudanese Foreign Minister Ambassador Ali Youssef Ahmed Al-Sharif received Ramatan Lamamra, the personal envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Sudan, in Port Sudan.
The Foreign Minister extended Sudan’s condolences to the UN Secretary-General, through his personal envoy, for the victims of the World Food Programme incident in the Yabus area. He also affirmed Sudan’s condemnation of all attacks against humanitarian workers.
Al-Sharif provided a detailed explanation of the developments and grave violations committed by the rebellious militia against unarmed civilians. He emphasized Sudan’s cooperation with the UN for joint efforts and stressed that any peaceful resolution process must be based on implementing the Jeddah Declaration, signed on May 11, 2023.
For his part, Ramatan Lamamra stated that this was his fourth visit to Sudan this year, following numerous previous visits and regional tours aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the ongoing war in Sudan. Both sides agreed to continue their cooperation, coordination, and constructive dialogue.
