On Saturday, the Joint Forces seized control of the strategic Zarq military base in North Darfur.
After hours-long battles, the Joint Forces captured the most significant military base of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), confiscating several combat vehicles and a large quantity of combat supplies. Dozens of militia members were killed, and others who fled were pursued.
The official spokesman for the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Nabeel Abdullah, confirmed that the Joint Forces dealt a severe blow to the RSF on Saturday.
Speaking to “Al-Muhaqqiq” news, Nabeel said the Joint Forces took over the militia’s main base in the Zarq area of North Darfur, where the RSF had amassed armed vehicles, weapons, and ammunition. He emphasized the strategic importance of Zarq, describing it as the militia’s primary headquarters since its inception.
In related developments, Sudan Liberation Army leader Mini Arko Minawi told “Sudan Tribune” that the RSF had lost a major supply line connecting them to Libya after fierce battles lasting five hours, during which all RSF fortifications protecting the Zarq base were dismantled.
Justice and Equality Movement leader Gibril Ibrahim stated that the Armed Forces and Joint Forces had crushed the rebellion and seized control of Zarq, the militia’s most critical stronghold and supply hub in the region.
