Opening of Water Station in South Shendi

Khaled Abdel-Ghafar Al-Sheikh, the Executive Director of Shendi Locality, inaugurated the Daqisha Water Station in the South Shendi Unit, which operates on solar energy and was funded through the self-development efforts of the locality.
The Executive Director confirmed that the year 2025 will witness the implementation of several water stations and the installation of solar energy units, particularly in light of the large influx of people to the locality and the increasing demand for water. He added that the water sector has received significant attention and priority in the 2025 budget.
The Executive Director also outlined the steps being taken by the local government in the execution of development projects, particularly in the areas of water, education, health, roads, and electricity. He emphasized that the development process continues despite the challenges the country is facing and reiterated his commitment to providing electricity to the area and supporting all services.
Hisham Ibrahim, the Director of the General Engineering Affairs Department, stated that the Daqisha Water Station project was funded by Shendi Locality at a cost of over 12 million pounds. He revealed plans to establish more water stations with funding from the locality’s self-development efforts.
The representative of the Water Department in the locality also announced plans for the upcoming year, which include the construction of several water stations, installation of solar energy systems, and the development of water networks in several areas of the locality.
