Approval of the Proposed Adjustment to the Container Port Incentive for Workers
Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The General Administration of the Southern Port announced the approval by the Director-General, Mr. Mohamed Hassan Mukhtar, of the proposed adjustment from the committee tasked with studying the container port incentive and addressing the discrepancies from previous periods.
The decision was widely welcomed by the workers at the container terminal, who expressed their happiness with this positive development.
In this context, Engineer Essam Adam Bheith, Director of the General Administration of the Southern Port, praised the ongoing efforts of the workers to increase productivity and achieve positive results, which have been a key support for boosting the national economy, prompting the administration to improve production incentives to align with the workers’ performance.
He also appreciated the role of the committee headed by Hamid Osman Mohamed and the driving force behind the container terminal, Deputy Director Musa Mohamed Hamed, along with others. The committee faced numerous challenges but managed to provide effective solutions to address previous shortcomings and ensure that incentives keep up with the rapid economic changes.
Engineer Essam clarified that the new adjustment is based on the accounting Euro rate, not the cash Euro rate, as was circulated through media outlets, noting that this procedure would contribute to enhancing job satisfaction among workers.
He thanked the senior administration, represented by Captain Mohamed Hassan Mukhtar and his deputies in operations, financial affairs, and administration, as well as the General Administration of Financial Affairs, the administrative accounting section, and the accounting unit at the Southern Port, for their contribution to this achievement.
