Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
The official spokesperson for the government, Minister of Culture and Information Khaled Al-Ieiser, confirmed that destroying the Sudanese economy was one of the strategic objectives of the war launched by the rebellious Rapid Support Forces militia against Sudan. He reassured the Sudanese people that the country’s economic situation is improving.
Al-Ieiser added that the war was not only on the military front but also on the economic front, as evidenced by the militia’s direct and systematic targeting of the banking sector, represented by the central bank and other banks, stealing the national currency and sabotaging financial institutions since the beginning of the war.
Al-Ieiser reviewed the ongoing process of replacing the 500 and 1,000 Sudanese pound notes at the branch of the Central Bank of Sudan in Port Sudan. He was received by the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Baraa Al-Siddiq Ali, and other bank officials, who reassured him that the process was proceeding smoothly.
He praised the efforts of the workers at the Central Bank and the banking sector in general for their hard work and dedication in ensuring the success of the currency replacement process, emphasizing that it is a complex operation overseen with excellence by the central bank governor and his team.
Al-Ieiser assured the public that the currency replacement process is progressing well, urging the Sudanese people to be confident that it is being conducted efficiently, aiming to safeguard the nation’s resources and individual interests. He commended the public’s engagement with the process and their response to all calls and plans set in place. He also praised the team that contributed to the success of the media campaign.
