Khartoum Governor: Air Force Strikes Foiled the Coup Plot Against Sudan

The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, confirmed that the whole world witnessed the role of the Air Force in the Battle of Dignity, stating that “the urgent airstrikes were what thwarted the plot to overthrow the Sudanese state.”
The Governor addressed a celebration held by Khartoum State to honor the pilots of the Wadi Sidna Military Base, attended by the Air Defense Commander, General Abdelkhair Abdullah Nasser, and the commander of the airbase, Major General Talal Ali Al-Reeh. Other attendees included Khartoum State Police Chief, Major General Amir Abdel Moneim, Director-General of the Ministry of Health Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, Director-General of the Ministry of Culture and Information Al-Tayeb Saad El-Din, and a representative from the Khartoum Security Committee, Major General Abdel Qader Mohamed Ali Al-Bashir.
The Governor highlighted the base’s contribution to evacuating foreign nationals at the beginning of the war and its continued service to all citizens. He emphasized that the entire nation is awaiting the end of the war and the victory to honor the Air Force heroes and all the heroes in the regular forces.
Meanwhile, the commander of Wadi Sidna Air Base, Major General Talal Ali Al-Reeh, noted that Wadi Sidna is the mother of all airbases, and from it, the Air Force Academy and other bases like Meroe and Osman Digna Air Base in Eastern Sudan emerged. He paid tribute to the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity from all regular forces, especially the Air Force. He added, “We have maintained this base and its roles since its establishment, and it will continue to perform its tasks efficiently.”
The Governor also praised the important role of the Khartoum State government in supporting the Battle of Dignity and assisting citizens, as well as its serious efforts to provide services to the people. The Governor was later honored by the Air Defense Command, and he, in turn, honored the pilots who played a key role in supporting the battle, instilling fear in the enemy, breaking their will, and helping liberate many sites.
Additionally, the Governor visited the health center affiliated with the base and assessed its needs, pledging to provide staff, equipment, and supplies and expressing willingness to contribute to the development of air ambulance services.
