Sudan Events – Follow-ups
A source at the Ashkit border crossing revealed that 678 Sudanese, mostly families, arrived from Egypt, with 66 of them being among those deported on 14 buses traveling between Sudan and Egypt.
This move is part of the voluntary return initiative for Sudanese citizens from Egypt.
According to the source, the daily average of returnees currently ranges between 500 to 600 people, and there has been a significant influx of Sudanese families participating in the voluntary return initiative. The procedures for their return are being handled smoothly and flexibly, with full coordination between the relevant authorities on both sides at the border crossings.
