Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, delivered good news to Sudanese citizens, announcing that the hour of victory is near and the time for resolution has come.
In a speech on Tuesday marking Independence Day, Al-Burhan emphasized their willingness to engage in any genuine initiative that ends the war, ensures the safe return of citizens to their homes, and eliminates threats to their lives once and for all.
Al-Burhan stated that they are moving forward on the path of the people, stressing that the situation cannot return to how it was before April 15, 2023. He categorically rejected the presence of killers, criminals, and their supporters among the Sudanese people again.
He also affirmed the government’s commitment to meeting all humanitarian requirements and delivering aid to those in need, despite the ongoing war. Al-Burhan noted that the state and its forces remain committed to international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions and their protocols, as well as laws protecting civilians.
