Central Security Room: Currency Change Has Addressed Many Distortions

Sudan Events – Agencies
The Central Security Room for Currency Replacement, headed by Director of Security Police, Major General Kambal Hussein Kambal, announced that the currency exchange process across various states was successfully carried out by all committees, especially the security committee. Major General Kambal explained in a press briefing after the last day of currency replacement that the central security committee was responsible for ensuring the security of the entire currency replacement process. The committee served as a liaison between the higher committee and the sub-committees in the states.
He added that the currency replacement had addressed many distortions in the 500 and 1000-pound denominations, which had been affected by the war waged by the rebel militia targeting the country’s infrastructure, including the Central Bank of Sudan, commercial banks, and currency printing. He also highlighted that the decision to extend the currency exchange for an additional week was crucial in addressing all concerns raised by the higher committee and had yielded good results. The security committee ensured that the states involved in the exchange process were fully prepared and took all necessary precautions to ensure the success of the operation.
Major General Kambal emphasized that the currency replacement process was a national success, culminating in the return of currency to the banking sector, which is the normal economic situation globally. He noted that the 21-day period was sufficient to replace all the amounts in the designated areas, and that the security plan accounted for all challenges in banks and currency exchange areas, successfully preventing any security incidents or conspiracies that aimed to sabotage the currency exchange.
