Al-Atta: Our Ultimate Goal Is to Eliminate Militias and Their Supporters

Member of the Sovereignty Council and assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Yasser Al-Atta, paid tribute to the pioneers of Sudan’s independence. He expressed hope for Sudan to witness further development, security, stability, and peace.
Addressing the celebrations of the 69th Independence Day organized by the Khartoum state government at the Graduates’ Conference Hall in Omdurman, attended by the governor of Khartoum, government officials, security leaders, and civil society representatives, Al-Atta emphasized that the Sudanese nation has become more united than ever.
He added that the ultimate goal is to eliminate militias and their supporters, both domestically and internationally.
For his part, Khartoum Governor Ahmed Osman Hamza stressed the importance of learning from past sacrifices and confronting current challenges to build a brighter future for the country. He affirmed that signs of victory are beginning to appear.
At the conclusion of the celebration, General Yasser Al-Atta honored the family of Bashir Jumaa Sahel, a member of the Independence Parliament, and Lieutenant Shanto Ali Qutayya, one of those who participated in raising the independence flag.
