Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Sixth Infantry Division in Al-Fasher revealed that the Rapid Support Forces militia launched a strategic march south of the city on Wednesday, but it quickly turned against them, resulting in the death of a Mauritanian mercenary, Colonel Khala Ibrahim Dalib, and militia member Hamida Abbas, in addition to the killing of more than thirty members of the guard crew.
The Sixth Division announced the successful interception of three suicide drones in the northern part of the city, which were searching for primary targets.
And it urged citizens to exercise caution due to the intense activity of the drones, especially the nighttime ones, by remaining still and using lighting during the evening hours to avoid them.
The Sixth Infantry Division added, according to its press briefing on Thursday, that the armed forces and the joint force of the armed struggle movements, supported by the air force, managed to defeat the Rapid Support Forces militia, which was planning to attack unarmed innocent citizens in Al-Fasher during their New Year’s celebrations, killing a large number of them and destroying fully equipped combat vehicles.
It indicated that the militia also launched a strategic march after the evening prayer, targeting populated neighborhoods and displaced persons’ shelters, but they did not hit any target by God’s will and grace.
The brigade stated that the militia shelled the city of Al-Fasher on Wednesday with an (BTR) armored vehicle, resulting in the destruction of several classrooms in some abandoned schools.
It pointed out the martyrdom of one citizen and the injury of six others with varying degrees of wounds due to gunfire from one of the militia’s snipers.
