The Sudanese army and its allied forces are advancing cautiously on several fronts in Khartoum State, particularly in Khartoum Bahri, amid intense clashes with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). In addition to combat operations, the army bears the responsibility of evacuating civilians trapped between the lines of fire.
With every advance the army makes to the south, dozens of civilians stranded in their homes amid the fierce fighting are evacuated. These operations highlight the challenges of urban warfare, which the Sudanese army is experiencing for the first time in its history.
