Activists reported on Friday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia kidnapped around 70 civilians from Wad Madani, the capital of Al-Jazirah state, as they were heading to Sennar state, demanding large sums of money for their release.
A statement issued by the Al-Jazirah Conference said, “On Thursday, the RSF militia kidnapped two vehicles carrying families, mostly women and children, who were attempting to leave Wad Madani for Sennar. They were taken to the Al-Kasih Resort south of the city, where the militia demanded 50 million Sudanese pounds for the release of each individual.”
