The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects the African Union Peace and Security Council to reassess its suspension of Sudan’s membership due to measures taken by the army chief on October 25, 2021.
Sudan’s ambassador to Ethiopia, Al-Zein Ibrahim, said during a press conference at the Sudanese Embassy in Addis Ababa on Thursday that the statement issued by the Council following its recent visit to Port Sudan contains positive indicators. He confirmed that authorities in Port Sudan are awaiting a new assessment.
