Jibril: “Sanctions Will Not Change the Sudanese Position on the War for Dignity”

Sudan Events – Follow-up

The Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Justice and Equality Movement, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, downplayed the impact of U.S. sanctions on the Sudanese people.

He rejected the U.S. Treasury Department’s sanctions on the Chairman of the Sovereign Council and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Al-Burhan.

In a tweet on the “X” platform, Jibril stated that the sanctions would not alter the stance of Sudanese people or their forces regarding the “War for Dignity.” He added, “The U.S. sanctions imposed on the country’s leaders since 1958 have never forced anyone to comply with them.” He questioned, “Why does the U.S. insist on using the stick without the carrot with Sudan?”
