Aqar: The Government Is Committed to Facilitating Services

The Vice President of the Sovereign Council, Malik Aqar, praised the significant role played by the Italian Emergency Foundation in providing humanitarian and medical assistance to heart and vascular disease patients in Khartoum, Port Sudan, and Nyala amid current circumstances.
During a meeting with the foundation’s delegation, led by Rosella Mishu, at his office in Port Sudan on Sunday, Aqar affirmed the government’s full commitment to facilitating services and securing medical and health teams, enabling them to carry out their duties. He emphasized the importance of complementary roles and joint coordination between the government and regional and international organizations to provide health and humanitarian services.
Aqar also mentioned the state’s interest in preparing and providing an appropriate environment for relief teams and humanitarian organization staff, particularly in issuing entry visas for those working in the humanitarian field.
For her part, Rosella Mishu explained that the delegation briefed the Vice President on the activities and programs carried out by the Italian foundation since 2004, as well as the efforts to maintain and continue the services provided through Al-Salam Hospitals in Soba, Kassala, and Al-Qadarif, and the challenges faced by the foundation in implementing proposed programs and continuing operations in Nyala.
She also explained that the foundation was able to continue life-saving surgeries, thanks to the Sudanese side’s commitment to providing medical and health assistance to the foundation’s hospitals
