The prosecution denied media reports and social media claims that Abdullah Hamdok’s name had been removed from the list of wanted individuals.
In a clarifying statement on Sunday, the prosecution confirmed that this information was false. It explained that Hamdok is wanted on multiple criminal charges, including case number (5010) for 2023 under several articles of the Sudanese Penal Code, along with articles (5, 6) of the Anti-Terrorism Law of 2003.
The prosecution noted that a request had previously been made to Interpol to issue a Red Notice for his arrest.
The prosecution emphasized that legal proceedings against the accused are still under review and reaffirmed its commitment to the 1991 Criminal Procedure Law to ensure justice and protect community rights.
It urged citizens and media outlets to verify the accuracy of information and confirmed that legal action would be taken against those spreading false rumors.
